Strootman Attracts Attention Despite Injury

As.Roma’s Kevin Strootman sustained an injury during a Serie A match for his club as they locked horns against Napoli in March which forced him to be out of action and unable to play the remainder of the season as well as having to miss out from the 2014 World Cup.

Despite suffering such a heavy injury and being out of form for a significantly long period of time the Dutch midfielder still is attracting the eyes of clubs around Europe and the new coach of Manchester United, Louis van Gaal is believed to be preparing an offer in the region of €25 million for his services.

Kevin Strootman will undergo a rehabilitation program that is scheduled to conclude and have the midfielder fully recovered in December where Manchester United is expected to launch an offer for the player of As.Roma.

While Strootman is a performer who might be seeing his way out of As.Roma, Ashley Cole is one of the latest high profile players who has joined the Italian club after the English defender spent 8 years playing at Stamford Bridge in Chelsea, he opted to finish the last few seasons of his career playing in Italy.

Ashley Cole’s contract with Chelsea expired on June and this allowed As.Roma on swooping in for the veteran defender who arrived as a free agent and will be remaining with his new club for 2 years.

‘’When I heard I had the chance to come to a big club in Italy it was something I wanted to do. Clubs abroad don’t come in for English players as much as people think. I’ve never been out of London so this is a big opportunity for me to try a different language, a different culture and a different way of living’’ Ashley Cole told reporters during his first press conference as a player of As.Roma.
