Daniel Agger

I Love Daniel Agger

CLUB HAS IMPROVED

The Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has said that he feels that the club have improved a lot under the management of the former Swansea man Brendan Rodgers, despite the club struggling to get into the top half of the table. Liverpool have managed just four victories in the league this season. As a result, they currently sit in the 11th position a massive seven points behind the top four positions. At the start of the season, the objective of finishing in the top four was the priority for the club, but they are extremely poor in the league and in the cup competitions.

Statistically, they are also in a much worse position than they were under the former manager Kenny Dalglish. This is because last season at the same stage anywhere in the sixth position with the hope of qualifying for the Champions League. The club are looking to achieve a different philosophy under the management of Brendan Rodgers, which will take time according to Daniel Agger. This season has been extremely similar to the one on the Kenny Dalglish last season because Liverpool have dominated matches and had a number of chances, but they have been unable to finish them. Yet, Agger believes that they can qualify for the Champions League this season.

“The last couple of games we’ve played really well. I think the Tottenham game (a 2-1 defeat last Wednesday) was one of the best games I’ve played in for a long time – we played them off the pitch. Confidence is a big thing here and I think we have it. We are brave on the ball, want to go forward and we are not just playing around and I think that is the difference,” said the Denmark defender ahead of the match with Southampton during the weekend.
